Long Time No Speak.

June 5th, 2022

I have been absent for a bit I know. I am juggling a few things and I found it difficult to carve out the time to write the blog. Here is a quick update… I am really happy how the store and this site has turned out. I am continuously trying to improve it as I go along. If you have a suggestion, feel free to comment. below. From a housekeeping stand point. I want this place to be an escape from reality. I want you to feel like this is a safe judgement free site. I will not tolerate any bullying or hate speech, whether directed towards anyone including me. If you guys want to have a discord, or a forum let me know. Just know that the same rules about bullying and harassment would apply there as well.

The Comeback

I think we can all agree that 2019 was a weird year. In hindsight, we were living relatively care free. The dreaded COVID wasn’t a thing and, we had a chance to enjoy the outdoors and each others company(without screens and webcams). I was scheduled to go on a trip to Minnesota but, I had come down with a sinus infection so flying was not an option. Driving, was an option but, when you have gear and timeframes to worry about, it isn’t really a good option. I plan on completing the trip this year, all be it almost three years later. I want to take a moment to announce and acknowledge some milestones that have occurred since 2019.

First things first. I am back at this photography thing full force, and I mean full force. I have started a business and now have an e store set up for those interested in buying prints. I want you to know that I think the world of those of you that support me. I believe that that this is going to be a super fun adventure. I say adventure, because I want this to turn in to something bigger than I have planed. It is been a blast so far and, it is only getting better. I am for hire, so check out the about page to see what all I offer. As always, the store has my favorite pieces available for print now! check back often, because I hope to be adding regularly.

The Journey

It took me a while to find a something that interested me, photography seemed to fill a void that had otherwise been in my life. I had started dabbling with photography in high school to document things and events in my life. I will admit that I wasn’t fully invested in it at first because I had, correction, have a boring life. I live in the Midwest so let’s be honest for a minute here.. For the most part there are four subjects to look at in reality. You have corn fields, bean fields, water, and the occasional bigger city. On a side note I am in no way ripping on farmers or farming. That being said, if I was going to fully on invest in photography I was going to have to make the best of what I had and find the beauty around me. Yes there are more things the aforementioned subjects, but you have to do some exploration for it.

“The Road To Wonder”

I think a lot can be gained from a simple black and white or a fully restored piece of vintage farm machinery. What someone finds dull and boring maybe may be breath taking to another. The point to this story it to find something you love and peruse it. Don’t feel obligated to know what makes you happy. life is a journey and some times it is filled with obstacles. Surround yourself with people that you care about and care about you. People shouldn’t dictate how you live you life or what you do as long as it isn’t harmful or illegal. Photography happens to be a part of my journey and I intend it to stay that way. Make the most of your time. Life is precious, so don’t forget to have fun.
